One night last November, Seaford resident Johnny Miller was at a dead stop waiting to turn left when his car was hit from behind, thrown into oncoming traffic, and immediately hit head-on by a dump truck.<\/p>\n

Considering the severity of the accident, Johnny had relatively few external injuries. However, doctors soon discovered that he had quite a few internal injuries, including a tear in his aorta.<\/p>\n

For three weeks, Johnny battled his injuries in the ICU. At the time, he could barely stand for more than five minutes, and it looked like he had a very long and painful road ahead.<\/p>\n

As it turned out, the road was painful, but not quite as long as expected. Because of his determination, Johnny was ready to transfer to an outpatient physical therapy facility after completing some physical therapy at the hospital and at home.<\/p>\n

Soon after starting physical therapy in Seaford, Johnny began the\u00a0F.I.R.S.T. work conditioning program<\/a>\u00a0to help him achieve his goal of getting back to work. Days later, he was already seeing results.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m already leaps and bounds better,\u201d says Johnny. \u201cI know the program is challenging, and it\u2019s definitely a step up from my regular therapy\u2026but it\u2019s working.\u201d<\/p>\n

Three months after his accident, Johnny has no problem standing\u2026or walking\u2026or even jogging. During his daily four-hour F.I.R.S.T. program sessions, he\u2019s doing push-ups, biking, throwing and catching balls with his therapist, balancing on a board with one leg, and much more.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d recommend ATI to anyone,\u201d Johnny says. \u201cEveryone is very friendly, and you can tell they are all very educated. They know what they\u2019re doing; that\u2019s clear by my own progress.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
